Coastal North Carolina National Wildlife Refuges

The Coastal North Carolina National Wildlife Refuge Complex includes 9 National Wildlife Refuges in eastern North Carolina, including Alligator River, Pea Island, Pocosin Lakes, Mattamuskeet, Mackay Island, Currituck, Swanquarter, Cedar Island, and Roanoke River. These refuges protect and manage more than 500,000 acres of dunes, marshes, and forests, and the wildlife that rely on them for the continuing benefit of the American people.
